Light My Holidays Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Agreement") govern all services provided by Built By Carey LLC d/b/a Light My Holidays ("Light My Holidays," "Company," "we," "our," or "us"). By accepting an estimate, paying a deposit, scheduling services, approving a proposal, or allowing installation to begin, the customer ("Customer") agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1. Leased Decoration Service

All Christmas lights, wreaths, garland, bows, timers, extension cords, clips, hardware, stakes, decorations, and related materials supplied by Light My Holidays are provided as part of a seasonal leased decorating service.

No lights, decor, or materials are being sold to the Customer. All materials remain the sole property of Built By Carey LLC d/b/a Light My Holidays at all times.

Customer agrees that Light My Holidays may remove all leased materials at the end of the season.

2. Deposits & Payment Terms

New Customers

A non-refundable deposit equal to 75% of the project total is required to reserve installation services.

Returning Customers

A non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of the project total is required to reserve installation services.

The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion of installation.

Light My Holidays may send the final invoice by email, text message, or other electronic method. If the remaining balance is not paid within three (3) calendar days after installation, Customer authorizes Light My Holidays to charge the payment method on file for the remaining balance.

Failure to pay may result in collection actions, attorney fees, additional charges, and suspension of future services.

3. No Refunds & Cancellation Policy

All deposits and payments are non-refundable.

Due to seasonal scheduling, labor commitments, material preparation, reserved installation capacity, and administrative costs, no refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Customer cancellation

  • Change of plans

  • Property sale

  • Scheduling delays

  • Weather delays

  • Installation week changes

  • HOA restrictions

  • Customer failure to provide access

  • Customer decision not to proceed after materials have been reserved or prepared

4. Scheduling

Light My Holidays allows customers to request preferred installation weeks.

Requested installation weeks are not guaranteed. Installation schedules may change due to weather, rain, lightning, hurricanes, storms, staffing, material availability, equipment availability, unsafe conditions, emergency service needs, or other circumstances beyond the

Company's control.

Customer agrees that no refund, discount, or credit will be issued due to installation date changes or scheduling delays.

5. Weather & Delays

Customer understands that outdoor decorating services are affected by weather.

Light My Holidays is not responsible for delays caused by rain, lightning, wind, hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding, unsafe roof conditions, wet surfaces, or any other weather-related issue.

No refund, discount, or compensation will be provided due to weather-related delays.

6. Property Access

Customer agrees to provide safe and reasonable access to all work areas, including gates, driveways, electrical outlets, landscaping, roofs, trees, and other areas needed for installation, service, maintenance, or takedown.

Customer is responsible for securing pets, unlocking gates, moving vehicles, removing obstacles, and notifying Light My Holidays of any hazards on the property.

7. Wreaths, Garland & Permanent Anchors

Certain wreath and garland installations require permanent stainless steel anchors, screws, fasteners, mounting points, or similar hardware.

By approving wreath or garland installation, Customer expressly authorizes Light My Holidays to install permanent stainless steel anchors and mounting hardware as needed.

Customer understands and agrees that:

  • Anchors may remain permanently attached to the property.

  • Garland installations may require multiple anchors.

  • Anchor removal may leave visible holes, marks, or cosmetic changes.

  • Light My Holidays is not responsible for cosmetic damage, holes, marks, repairs, or repainting related to anchor installation or removal.

8. Trees, Palm Trees & Staples

Tree and palm tree lighting may require staples, clips, fasteners, mounting hardware, or similar methods to secure lighting safely.

By approving tree or palm tree lighting, Customer authorizes Light My Holidays to use such installation methods.

Light My Holidays is not responsible for staple holes, punctures, markings, cosmetic effects, or minor damage associated with securing lighting to trees, palm trees, trunks, branches, or landscaping.

9. Gutters, Roofs & Exterior Surfaces

Customer understands that Christmas light installation may involve working around gutters, fascia, soffits, roofing materials, roof tiles, siding, stucco, brick, stone, windows, doors, trim, paint, and other exterior surfaces.

Customer understands that tile roofs can be fragile. Light My Holidays is not responsible for cracked, broken, loose, shifted, or damaged roof tiles, including any pre-existing cracked, broken, loose, weakened, aging, or improperly installed roof tiles.

Any access near or on roof tiles is performed at the Customer's risk.

Light My Holidays is not responsible for:

  • Scratched gutters

  • Loose gutters

  • Existing gutter defects

  • Pre-existing property damage

  • Hidden defects

  • Old or brittle materials

  • Paint wear

  • Cosmetic scuffs

  • Roof discoloration

  • Cracked roof tiles

  • Broken roof tiles

  • Loose roof tiles

  • Shifted roof tiles

  • Pre-existing broken or cracked roof tiles

  • Damage caused by fragile, aging, deteriorated, loose, weakened, or improperly installed surfaces

Customer is responsible for notifying Light My Holidays of any known fragile, damaged, unsafe, or high-risk areas before work begins.

10. Lift Equipment

If Customer approves the use of a lift, boom lift, scissor lift, tracked lift, or other equipment on the property, Customer acknowledges and accepts the risks associated with such equipment.

Light My Holidays is not responsible for damage to:

  • Grass

  • Sod

  • Landscaping

  • Irrigation systems

  • Driveways

  • Sidewalks

  • Pavers

  • Concrete

  • Asphalt

  • Curbs

  • Underground systems

Customer further understands that rental equipment may experience mechanical failures, hydraulic failures, hydraulic hose failures, leaks, or other malfunctions.

Light My Holidays is not responsible for hydraulic leaks, equipment failures, or property damage resulting from third-party rental equipment.

11. Electrical Systems

Customer is responsible for providing safe, functioning, properly grounded electrical outlets and circuits.

Light My Holidays is not responsible for:

  • Tripped breakers

  • Failed outlets

  • Faulty GFCI outlets

  • Overloaded circuits

  • Electrical panel issues

  • Existing electrical deficiencies

  • Power interruptions

  • Electrical failures

  • Timer malfunctions caused by power issues

  • Damage resulting from unsafe or defective electrical systems

Any electrical upgrades or repairs are the sole responsibility of the Customer.

12. HOA, City & Property Rules

Customer is solely responsible for ensuring that any requested display complies with HOA requirements, city regulations, landlord restrictions, community standards, deed restrictions, and property management rules.

Light My Holidays is not responsible for violations, fines, notices, required modifications, or required removals resulting from third-party regulations.

13. Maintenance & Service Calls

Light My Holidays will make reasonable efforts to maintain installed displays during the season.

Service timing depends on weather, demand, staffing, safety conditions, and route availability.

Same-day service is not guaranteed.

Light My Holidays is not responsible for issues resulting from:

  • Customer tampering

  • Unplugged cords

  • Timer adjustments

  • Damaged outlets

  • Power outages

  • Animals

  • Lawn maintenance companies

  • Landscapers

  • Vandalism

  • Third-party interference

  • Severe weather

  • Customer misuse

14. Takedown

Takedown services begin January 3rd.

Light My Holidays works to have all lights and decorations removed by the end of January, weather and scheduling permitting.

Exact takedown dates are not scheduled or guaranteed. Our crews work quickly and efficiently to remove displays as soon as possible based on route planning, weather, staffing, safety conditions, and operational needs.

Customers may request placement on an end-of-takedown list if they would like their display removed later in the month. Placement on this list is not guaranteed and does not guarantee a specific takedown date.

All payments must be paid in full before takedown services are performed.

If there is an unpaid balance, Light My Holidays may delay or refuse removal of lights, decorations, wreaths, garland, timers, extension cords, or other leased materials until the account balance has been paid in full.

Customer agrees not to remove, cut, alter, relocate, disconnect, store, or tamper with any Company-owned materials without written authorization from Light My Holidays.

If Customer removes, relocates, disconnects, stores, or otherwise handles Company-owned materials without authorization, Customer assumes all responsibility for any resulting damage, loss, theft, missing materials, or installation issues.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Repairs

  • Replacement materials

  • Reinstallation

  • Additional service calls

  • Labor

  • Damaged equipment

  • Missing leased materials

Any lights, decorations, timers, extension cords, clips, wreaths, garland, bows, anchors, hardware, or other leased materials that are missing, damaged, altered, or not returned in their original condition at the time of takedown may be billed to the Customer at full replacement cost plus applicable labor charges.

15. Missing, Damaged & Altered Materials

Because all decorations remain the property of Built By Carey LLC d/b/a Light My Holidays, Customer is responsible for any leased materials that are stolen, lost, damaged, altered, destroyed, removed, or unavailable at the time of takedown.

Replacement costs shall be determined by Light My Holidays and may include labor, materials, shipping, handling, and administrative costs.

16. Customer Release & Hold Harmless

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Customer agrees to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Built By Carey LLC d/b/a Light My Holidays, its owner, employees, agents, representatives, affiliates, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, expenses, attorney fees, or disputes arising from or related to:

  • Installation services

  • Maintenance services

  • Takedown services

  • Use of lights or decorations

  • Ladders

  • Lift equipment

  • Property conditions

  • Electrical conditions

  • Weather events

  • Equipment failures

  • Rental equipment malfunctions

  • Cosmetic damage

  • Roof tile damage

  • Pre-existing roof conditions

  • Pre-existing gutter conditions

  • Third-party actions

  • Customer actions or interference

17. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maximum liability of Built By Carey LLC d/b/a Light My Holidays for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by Customer for the specific project giving rise to the claim.

Under no circumstances shall Light My Holidays be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or emotional damages.

18. Photography & Marketing

Customer grants Light My Holidays permission to photograph and video the property, installation process, completed display, and surrounding exterior areas for marketing, advertising, website content, social media, portfolio use, promotional materials, and educational purposes.

No compensation shall be owed for such use.

19. Force Majeure

Light My Holidays shall not be responsible for delays or failures resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Hurricanes

  • Tropical storms

  • Severe weather

  • Natural disasters

  • Labor shortages

  • Material shortages

  • Equipment failures

  • Supply chain disruptions

  • Illness

  • Utility outages

  • Government restrictions

  • Unsafe working conditions

20. Collection Costs & Attorney Fees

Customer agrees to pay all attorney fees, court costs, collection fees, administrative costs, and related expenses incurred by Light My Holidays in collecting unpaid balances or enforcing this Agreement.

21. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Florida.

Any legal action arising under this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in Orange County, Florida, unless otherwise required by law.

22. Acceptance of Terms

By accepting an estimate, approving a proposal, paying a deposit, scheduling services, allowing installation to begin, or using Light My Holidays services, Customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
